Potato Stamping

this is a great easy project that is under $20.  plus it will take up most of your day. i found this on ohhappyday.com.  Jordan is an inspiration with awesome ideas and you can find some of the supplies in Doha . . . or have a friend bring them when they visit.

i picked up most of the supplies in City Center at the art store by Hello Kitty and Carrefore :
white poster board (size is up to you)
children 10 piece acrylic paint set plus a small tube of iridescent light green and a florescent pink
3 potatoes
cheap brushes to mix paint colors
plastic plates to mix
pushpins to hang

used push pins to hold in place
Step 1 - i measured 2 inches and left a tiny mark so i would know where to place each dot

Step 2 - i cheated and used a circular cookie cutter on the potato to get the right shape.

Step 3 - place the paint on some plates than start stamping away, i stamped each color 10 times than mixed it for a new shade.  remember you need a balance of light, bright, and neutrals.
getting somewhere
i should have listened to her and had a friend to help

about 2 hours of stamping

4 hours later :)
you could use any shape and could stack the stamps.  my next piece will be more abstract.
